The Open Road To Premiere At Munich Film Festival

Well, it seems that someone will actually be able to get a chance to see Justin’s film, The Open Road.

The festival, which runs 26 June – 4 July, has revealed a programme of more than 200 films, which also includes international and European premieres.

US director Meredith’s comedy The Open Road stars singer Justin Timberlake as a son trying to reconcile his dying mother (Mary Steenburgen) and estranged father (Jeff Bridges). It will premiere in the International Programme.

That does not give me strong hopes that it will be released in US theaters. Hopefully, though, we’ll be able to buy it on DVD in the coming months.

The Open Road does have a distributor and is suppose to get a limited release this summer and dvd. I just read a story from EW about how they aren’t putting indie films and films like this one or the Jessica one Easy Virtue into wide release because today’s young people won’t pay money to go see them. They said expect to see more action, horror, animation and sci-fi since thats all they can seem to make money on. At least we know it will go to dvd though.

Yea, actually I was doing dishes and the distributor thing just popped into my head. I wrote about that on here, too! It’s a shame when probably the movie’s only fans are forgetting things about it. The publicity powers that be need to get on that . . . also, even though it’s sad, I get why young people wouldn’t see these types of films in theaters. I know I go to forget about drama for a bit . . . Plus that crap is so freakin’ expensive nowadays! You’re already crying about the ticket price . . .
