Justin As . . . The Green Lantern?

If you’re into comic books at all, Hal Jordan aka The Green Lantern needs no introduction. The superhero from Space Sector 2814 is a badass in green tights with a powerful ring. If you don’t know who he is, check out a short bio [HERE]. But honestly, Justin in green tights? I couldn’t say that I wouldn’t want to see that . . . However, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t rooting for Nathan Fillion.
There has been no shortage of contenders for the highly coveted role of Hal Jordan in “Green Lantern,” from the likes of Sam Worthington and Chris Pine to Brian Austin Green and… Justin Timberlake?
Wait, what?!
Courtesy of Ain’t It Cool News comes the wildest “Green Lantern” rumor to date — and we are stressing the word rumor, here. Webmaster Harry Knowles writes that pop star and budding actor Timberlake has suited up to screen test for the DC Comics superhero lead.
“Got an unconfirmed report that at Leavesden Studios — there’s been some Warner Bros. screen testing on ‘Green Lantern’ and that Justin Timberlake was suiting up for the test,” reported Knowles. “That does not mean that JT is going to be Hal Jordan, but just that he’s one of the guys that they’ve been seriously considering for the role of our Emerald Knight.”
In speaking with Splash Page editor Rick Marshall about this news, we both agreed that our kneejerk reaction was to not even report on such crazy speculation, but the fact that AICN has provided plenty of reliable scoops throughout the years was reason enough to ponder the topic — in other words, there just might be an iota of truth to the rumor.
Now, if Timberlake is chosen as the Green Lantern of Space Sector 2814…
Years ago, I would have immediately rejected the idea, but the pop sensation has made some strides towards becoming a genuine actor with roles in “Alpha Dog” and “Black Snake Moan.” Could “Green Lantern” be his big screen breakout performance?
Timberlake certainly isn’t my first choice for the role — but I have tremendous faith in Martin Campbell’s directorial vision and the film’s reportedly fantastic script. If the “SexyBack” singer ends up wearing Hal’s power ring… well, I’ll do my best to reserve judgment until I’ve seen some footage.

I could get into seeing him in that outfit. lol He’d probably have to do like alot of actors do playing superheroes and bulk up for the role.
well we know he can do tights on snl…but i dont think an actual superhero role is the right move right now. idk
I think it would be great for him, especially if it does well. I think it will give him more freedom to choose the roles that he wants as an actor. Plus, the movie wouldn’t be coming out until 2011 anyhow.
Plus, bulking up a bit for the role would so not be a bad thing

I just read about it this morning Deb . . . I wouldn’t have been upset if JT got the role, but I’m not upset that he didn’t either . . . I like Ryan Reynolds alot (how can you not, he’s beautiful). But I still wish Nathan Fillion had gotten it.
I just want another album. A lot of people have said this and I agree, I would be annoyed if he was in another movie before releasing a new album, it’s loooong overdue.
Haha . . . I dunno, I would love another album, but I think I’ll be ok without one for a little while longer. I think it’s cause he’s been in so many collaborations recently. If it weren’t for those, then yeah, I’d probably be a lot more anxious for some new tunes.
