Justin Gets Three Emmy Nominations

Every year Justin brings the goods, and every year he receives more and more recognition – and, of course, he deserves it! He has managed to land three Emmy nominations this year, two for penning great comedic tunes and one for his acting abilities. MTV goes over them below:

His first nomination comes in the Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics category for his Samberg collaboration “Motherlover.” Timberlake already has one of these under his belt for his performance of the viral smash “D— In a Box,” which also co-starred Samberg. He’s got some stiff competition, including songs from “Flight of the Conchords” and “A Colbert Christmas.” He’ll even be competing against himself — he’s got a second nomination in this category for his contribution to the song “I Love Sports” from the ESPY Awards.

But it’s no surprise that Timberlake would be getting music-related award nominations (after all, the guy has six Grammy Awards and seven VMAs). What’s really impressive is his nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for the episode of “Saturday Night Live” he hosted. He’s in incredible company, going up against heavyweights Steve Martin, Jon Hamm, Alan Alda and Beau Bridges. Timberlake’s performance on “SNL” not only yielded “Motherlover” but also the fantastically funny “Barry Gibb Talk Show” and “Immigrant Tale.” Timberlake has proven himself to be one of the funniest and most consistent performers on “SNL,” and if he takes home the gold in this category, Lorne Michaels should definitely be offering up a contract.
